TENS units are great for pain management and also rehabilitation and many other purposes. Great that you've found a "non-pill" way to manage your pain.

Thank you for the post. I find strength by always following messages received from my Spirit and not my Ego. (Everyone has to define those terms on their own :-)

For over five years, I dedicated my life to taking action on the 'messages' I received. And long story short, my Spirit-led journey grew so large and amazing that I was "told" to publish my story and then share it with the world. So that's just what I'm doing...

In the spirit of giving back, I'd like to offer you (and all who read this) a free gift copy of my book...just e-mail me from my web site. No strings attached...really!

Again, thank you for your post and for starting a great conversation.

take care,

Indeed. A relationship with Christ, who came in human form for many reasons, includes the model of how we are to maintain our relationship with Him and with others. The struggle, the pull. Who is it that we enjoy their presence. . . for awhile? There is exhilaration in many types of new relationships, whether romantic, platonic, business, etc. What keeps it going?

Yet the relationship we are called to have with Christ is much like that we are called to have with those 'deeper' relationships - those we have made a lifelong commitment to. Why the rejection, then? It is good to begin with the honesty that it begins with oneself, not with Him. It takes work. Perseverence. Faith.

In the way that a person will not eat or have a place to sleep at night if they do not invest anything at all into a business relationship, there will not be a genuine, deep relationship built for the difficult times if it is not being built during the gentler times of life.

What will help in this road of perseverance? Certainly relationship with others in the church. Say they are hypocrites? Indeed! That is the essence of why we need a Savior. My own hand goes up immediately, crying Guilty as charged.

Prayer, certainly. Filled with thanksgiving in the middle of the tragedy. Journal what He has done, what you are asking for help with today.

Patience. Now! Nooo. . . The kind that says I will wait until the answer comes. That may mean it doesn't even come in this lifetime. That is patience most people can't comprehend, but it is character-building. Can I testify to this? Yes. Would I make it without the encouragement of others? Not a day.

Most important, believe that what God says He will do is true. He may not answer the way you see the answer. He probably won't. But He will answer. As C.S. Lewis said of Christ, He is either liar, lunatic, or Lord. I encourage you to take the whole deal. Including the hard parts, by faith, will take you on a journey of faith you can't imagine. But there is so much better a place on the other side when you take hold, my friend. Take hold.

For me, my strength is found only through my Savior, Jesus Christ.
So what is the solution to real health care for all? For those who have an exclusion on their record, and yet could not afford continuous coverage due to their own medical expenses being presently incurred? For example, I am aware of a single mother with young children who suffered a permanent head injury at the hands of her spouse, hospitalized for months of recovery. He was happy to allow her health insurancee lapse, which it did, and she has a lifetime exclusion created by the very person who could have protected her. Which candidate is likely to have the best plan for such individuals? Thoughts?

Yes, I would wholeheartedly agree that the definition of a disability is narrowly defined by the general population. In doing so, it creates stereotypes that have - for myself - created walls to prevent disclosure at all costs. Why? Some disabilities certainly cannot be hidden. Others may involve minimal intrusion upon one's live. In my case, it has impacted every relationship I have. It has brought financial disaster, fear from others of the unknown. Sometimes I am up to addressing the situation. . . and sometimes not.
